These negative thoughts can lead to anxiety, fear, and doubt, which can disrupt our spiritual peace and focus on worship. Islam provides us with powerful tools in the form of duas (supplications) to seek refuge in Allah from such harmful thoughts and delusions.

The Prophet (ﷺ) often recited the prayer: ‘Allahumma inni auzu bika min munkaratil’. By saying this, the Prophet (ﷺ) was seeking Allah’s protection from evil behavior and conduct, wrongful desires and inclinations, sickness and ailments (as mentioned in another version).

He was asking Allah to shield him from all forms of evil and harm, and to guide him towards righteousness and good deeds.
