Dhul Hijjah is the 12th month of the Islamic calendar and includes the blessed days of Hajj and Eid al-Adha. It is a time of worship, sacrifice, and reflection. Eid al-Adha commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and reminds Muslims to submit fully to Allah’s will.
The moon was sighted on May 27, making Wednesday, May 28 the first day of Dhul Hijjah. Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025.
The UAE also announced Dhul Hijjah beginning on May 28, with Eid al-Adha on June 6.
Oman confirmed the same dates — Dhul Hijjah starts on May 28, and Eid will be on June 6, 2025.
Both countries will begin Dhul Hijjah on May 29, and celebrate Eid al-Adha on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
India will likely begin Dhul Hijjah on May 29 after local moon sighting. Eid al-Adha is expected on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
