Upcoming 27th night of Rajab-ul-Murajjab 1444 Hijri, i.e. Shab-e-Mi’raaj. Countless thanks to Allah Almighty that ALLAH عَزَّوَجَلَّ blessed us once again with this great and sacred night that is filled with virtues and blessings.
Misunderstandings about the reality of the Miraj of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) have arisen among some individuals due to their limited knowledge and lack of research. Their lack of understanding in this matter has led to confusion in their hearts, as they struggle to grasp the special connection between Allah and His Beloved Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him).
Shab e Meraj, is that great and enlightened night (of Mi’raaj) in which the beloved Rasul Allah ﷺ was blessed with a great miracle. On this night, leader of all the angels, Sayyiduna Jibraeel-e-Ameen عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم came in the court of the Rasul Allah ﷺ with an extremely fast riding “Burraaq”. Rasul Allah ﷺ was adorned (like a groom). Very carefully, Rasul Allah ﷺ was made to ride upon the Buraaq. In the same night, he ﷺ reached Bayt-ul-Muqaddas from Makkah-tul-Mukarramah. He ﷺ was welcomed. He ﷺ led all the Ambiya عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام in Salah.
When did it occur?
Shab–e–Miraj, also known as shab e meraj , Al-Isra Wal-Miraj and the Night of Miraj, 27 Rajab ,. These terms are used to portray one of the most miraculous experiences that Allah had bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Ibn Qutaibah, Imam Raafi, and Imam Nawawi have collectively affirmed that Shab e Meraj occurred in the month of Rajab. The Muhaddith Abdul-Ghani Muqaddasi specifically mentions the 27th day as the date, while Allama Zarqaani notes that the majority of people hold the belief that it took place on the 27th of Rajab, a view supported by some historians as well.

(Ruh-ul-Ma’ani, part 15, Surah Asra Taht-al-Ayah 1, pp. 14,15)
Stages of the journey of Shab e Meraj (Mi’raaj)
‘Allamah Shahab-ud-Deen Mahmood Baghdadi رَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه states: ‘Rasul Allah ﷺ traversed through ten stages to reach قَابَ قَوْسَین from Bayt-ul-Maqdis.
1. First sky
2. Second sky
3. Third sky
4. Fourth sky
5. Fifth sky
6. Sixth sky
7. Seventh sky
8. Sidra-tul-Muntaha
9. Maqaam-e-Mustawa, where Rasul Allah ﷺ heard the sounds of the writing of the Divine Pen.
10. ‘Arsh-e-A’zam
(Ruh-ul-Ma’ani, part. 15, Surah Asra, Taht-ul-Ayah 1, pp. 15, Summarised)
Maqaam-e-Mustawa
When the Rasul Allah ﷺ went ahead of Sidra-tul-Muntaha, Sayyiduna Jibraeel عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم stopped there and apologised from going any further.
(Al-Mawahib-ul-Ladunniyyah, vol. 2, pp. 381)
Rasul Allah ﷺ said: I asked Jibraeel-e-Ameen عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم: ‘Have you seen your Lord?’
He عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم humbly replied: ‘There are seventy veils of Noor between me and my Lord. If I go near any one of them, I will get burnt.’ (Kanz-ul-‘Ummal, vol. 14, pp. 191, Hadees 39204)
Then, only Rasul Allah ﷺ went ahead (alone from Sidra-tul-Muntaha) and kept ascending. Rasul Allah ﷺ arrived at a place called Mustawa. Over here, Rasul Allah ﷺ heard the sounds of writing of pens. (Bukhari, Kitab-us-Salat, pp. 161, Hadees 349)
These were the pens that angels use to write the daily commandments of Allah Almighty. Moreover, they inscribe the events of one year from Lawh-e-Mahfooz [the Preserved Tablet] onto different pages. Then these pages are handed over to the relevant angels on the 15th night of Sha’ban.
